Os Pink Floyd são uma banda de rock inglesa que ganhou grande destaque pela sua música rock psicadélica, e , como lançou o rock progressivo avant-garde. São também conhecidos pelas suas letras filosóficas, experimentação sónica, arte inovadora , e concertos ao vivo muito bem elaborados.

O grupo vendeu mais de 250 milhões de albums em todo o mundo e estima-se em 73.5 milhões de albums somente nos Estados Unidos.

Os Pink Floyd tiveram um sucesso moderado nos finais dos anos de 1960 como uma banda psicadélica liderada por Syd Barret; contudo, o comportamento errático de Barrett forçou os seus colegas a substitui-lo pelo guitarrista/vocalista David Gilmour. Após a partida de Barrett, o vocalista e o baixista Roger Waters gradualmente tornaram-se os líderes e escritores da banda. Sob a liderança de Waters, a banda gravou muitos albuns, conseguindo sucessos mundiais com The Dark Side of the Moon(1973), Wish You Were Here(1975), Animals(1977), e The Wall(1979).
